Westgold Resources is seeking an experienced Principal Risk & Assurance to lead and continually improve our enterprise risk management and assurance frameworks across the business. 

Based in Perth on a Monday to Friday roster, this strategic leadership role will partner with operational and corporate stakeholders to strengthen risk governance, support informed decision-making and enhance organisational resilience. 

About the Role 

Reporting to the Group Manager Safety & Training, you will provide expert advice and leadership across enterprise risk, critical risk management and assurance activities. You will play a key role in ensuring risks are effectively identified, assessed, controlled and reported across the organisation. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of Westgold's Risk Management Framework 

• Facilitate enterprise, operational and project risk assessments 

• Maintain oversight of material business risks and critical controls 

• Develop and coordinate assurance programs across the organisation 

• Monitor, analyse and report on risk performance and emerging risks 

• Provide risk insights and recommendations to senior leaders 

• Support business continuity and organisational resilience initiatives 

• Drive risk management capability and risk culture across the business 

• Develop meaningful reporting for Executive Leadership and governance committees 

• Ensure risk management processes remain aligned with regulatory and business requirements 

About You 

You are a strategic risk professional with strong analytical capability and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. 

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

• Significant experience in enterprise risk, assurance, governance or compliance 

• Strong understanding of risk management principles and frameworks 

• Experience facilitating risk workshops and engaging diverse stakeholders 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Exceptional communication and influencing abilities 

• Experience presenting risk information to senior leaders and decision-makers 

• A collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement 

Qualifications & Experience 

• Tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Business, Commerce, Engineering, Safety or a related discipline 

• Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk and assurance within a complex organisation 

• Experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or another regulated environment 

• Knowledge of risk governance, assurance and control effectiveness methodologies 

• Experience developing risk reporting and management systems 

• Professional risk, governance or auditing qualifications will be highly regarded
