Job Summary
The Pre-Procedure Coordinator is responsible for care coordination for patients undergoing OR and clinic- based procedures, serving as their primary point of contact for all customer service, administrative and scheduling needs. They act as the liaison for the patient and family, working with both administrative and clinical staff from multiple departments to improve the patient's overall experience. The Pre-Procedure Coordinator must be organized and be able to manage a demanding workload with accuracy.Responsibilites:
- Schedules office based medical procedures and submits OR case requests for patients with appropriate provider and time/location slot, utilizing appropriate scheduling platform.
- Effectively utilizes clinical knowledge when determining if the appointment is consistent with the diagnosis/indications indicated by the provider.
- Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparations and any other directional information needed; takes appropriate action in responding to questions from patients.
- Thoroughly screens data obtained for completeness and obtains any additional information that is required.
- Assures the presence of necessary consents, history and physical, laboratory reports, medical clearance, and any other documentation that may be required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required;Associates Degree preferred
- Prior experience in patient appointment scheduling, billing, or health care required
- Experience with EPIC systems preferred
