Job Responsibilities
The PR & Community Development Specialist II plays a critical role in supporting Resorts World’s community engagement and marketing initiatives. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of community development, media, and branding, ensuring that RW’s community presence is strategically communicated, visually documented, and effectively promoted.
In addition to administrative responsibilities, this Specialist owns major community programs such as the Red Wall Art Gallery, Corporate Volunteerism & Social Responsibility initiatives, and the Gumbo Coalition University program. The Specialist works closely with internal departments and external partners to deliver high-quality community activations that align with RW’s mission and values.
The Specialist manages departmental marketing assets, media archives, public relations logistics, and guest communications to ensure smooth operations and consistent branding.
License Level: This is a non-gaming position and requires a non-gaming license. This position does not have any gaming related responsibilities, does not have access to secure gaming areas or sensitive customer information. This position is focused on community engagement and community projects to benefit Resort World’s community presence. This position does not have the ability to make discretionary decisions or long range policy determinations that impact gaming facility operations.
Essential Duties / Core Competencies
- Create, design, and execute marketing collateral in coordination with the Advertising Department for events and initiatives.
- Manage event photography and maintain a comprehensive media and photo database for future promotional use.
- Procure, inventory, and manage distribution of marketing materials and supplies for departmental events and programs.
- Develop and distribute a weekly PR agenda for RW’s Public Relations calls with ACTUM, summarizing upcoming events, press releases, and promotional priorities.
- Monitor and manage RW’s guest feedback email account, routing inquiries to appropriate departments and ensuring timely responses.
- Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive community database of elected officials, community leaders, nonprofits, and media contacts to streamline communications and collaboration.
Special Projects Ownership
- Facilitate contracts between artists, nonprofit partners, and RW to formalize agreements.
- Coordinate installation and deinstallation logistics with Facilities, curators, and artists to ensure proper handling and display.
- Organize opening receptions and related exhibition events, including guest list coordination, event setup, and catering with F&B teams.
- Draft and distribute press releases and promotional content to publicize exhibitions and drive engagement.
Corporate Volunteerism & Social Responsibility
- Identify meaningful volunteer opportunities with community partners.
- Schedule and coordinate volunteer events, including logistics, outreach, and follow-up.
- Promote opportunities through flyers and internal social media posts to engage RW team members.
- Recruit and equip volunteers with RW-branded collateral to ensure consistent representation.
- Track volunteer hours and develop strategies to recognize and celebrate participants.
Event & Partner Coordination
- The Specialist actively supports RW’s community event strategy, ensuring consistent branding, media coverage, and relationship building.
- Attend and represent RW at community events, including galas, fundraisers, volunteer initiatives, and tabling events.
- Manage branding and collateral presentation at events to maintain a consistent and professional image.
- Coordinate event photography and media documentation for marketing use.
- Act as a liaison with partners, vendors, and internal departments to ensure seamless event execution and follow-through.
- Engage with attendees and stakeholders to strengthen relationships and gather feedback.
Strategic Communication & Reporting
- The Specialist supports strategic communications by promoting community initiatives, aligning with leadership priorities, and maintaining organized media assets.
- Create and publish content about community development initiatives on RW’s internal social media platform to build employee awareness and engagement.
- Provide leadership with regular updates on project progress, event outcomes, and program performance.
- Collaborate with RW departments to ensure messaging consistency and strategic alignment.
- Maintain organized archives of photos and media to support reporting and promotional needs.
- Contribute to impact measurement by tracking program participation, outcomes, and engagement metrics.
Work/Educational Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the applicable statute, rules and regulations.
- Bachelors degree in any of the following: Public Administration, Communications Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Political Science, or Social Science.
- 3-5 years’ experience in community relations, corporate social responsibility, public affairs, event management, government/community engagement, or any related fields.

Fluency in English required. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:
Ability to compute complex mathematical calculations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.

Pay Transparency: $60,406-75,740
