About the Team  

The Group Investment Management (GIM) Tooling & Data team provides the reporting, analytics and insights that support investment planning and portfolio management across LSEG. Working closely with colleagues across Technology, Finance and Transformation, the team delivers trusted reporting that helps leaders understand investment performance, monitor delivery progress and make informed decisions.  

As demand for data-driven decision making continues to grow, the team is evolving its reporting and analytics capabilities, creating opportunities to improve how information is delivered, consumed and acted upon across the organisation.  

About the Role  

We're looking for a Power BI Development Manager to lead the development and support of enterprise reporting solutions used across Group Investment Management. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on Power BI development, offering the opportunity to shape reporting standards, improve team capability and influence the future direction of analytics within the function.  

Reporting to the GIM Dashboards Owner, the position balances day-to-day delivery with longer-term improvements to reporting architecture, governance and service quality. Success in the role comes from combining strong technical expertise with sound judgement, helping teams deliver practical solutions that are scalable, maintainable and aligned to business needs.  

Key Responsibilities  

Lead and develop a team of Power BI professionals, providing coaching, technical guidance and clear delivery priorities.  

Manage the reporting roadmap, backlog and delivery commitments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining service quality.  

Work closely with business partners to understand reporting needs, translate requirements into practical solutions and provide clear recommendations.  

Design, build and optimise Power BI dashboards, semantic models, DAX calculations and reporting architecture.  

Partner with Data Engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions from source through to reporting.  

Establish reporting standards, governance processes, testing approaches and release controls that improve consistency and quality.  

Resolve complex reporting and performance issues, identifying opportunities to improve usability, resilience and efficiency across the reporting estate.  

Skills & Experience  

The successful candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership experience and the ability to build strong relationships across a wide range of teams.  

Essential  

Extensive hands-on Power BI experience, including advanced DAX, Power Query (M), semantic modelling, performance optimisation and enterprise reporting.  

Strong SQL and SQL Server knowledge, with experience of data warehousing, dimensional modelling and data transformation.  

Experience designing and supporting scalable reporting solutions, including governance, testing, security and release management.  

Proven experience leading technical or analytics teams and supporting their growth and development.  

Ability to explain technical concepts clearly, challenge constructively and build confidence with senior decision-makers.  

Experience working within Agile delivery environments, managing changing priorities and delivering measurable business value.  

Desirable  

Experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform or similar cloud analytics technologies.  

Knowledge of Power Automate, AI-enabled reporting or automation technologies.  

Familiarity with Clarity, Jira, Oracle Fusion or similar enterprise platforms.  

Experience applying process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.
