Workshop Manager – Port Hedland, WA

At Toll Group, we’re currently seeking an experienced and commercially focused Heavy Vehicle Workshop Manager to lead our Port Hedland fleet maintenance operations, supporting a major customer partnership within the resources sector. This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll take ownership of workshop performance, financial outcomes, safety, customer relationships, and the development of a high-performing maintenance team.

As the leader of the Port Hedland workshop, you'll drive operational excellence across maintenance activities, manage significant maintenance budgets, oversee asset lifecycle planning, and ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective fleet maintenance solutions. You'll work closely with key stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and workforce representatives to achieve outstanding business outcomes while fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What you'll be responsible for

• Leading workshop operations and maintenance performance across the Port Hedland fleet.

• Driving P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.

• Managing maintenance strategies to maximise asset reliability and minimise downtime.

• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, particularly with key mining sector stakeholders.

• Leading, coaching, and developing Workshop Team Leaders, Coordinators, and maintenance personnel.

• Supporting industrial relations activities and workforce engagement initiatives.

• Implementing continuous improvement programs to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

• Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and legislative requirements.

About you

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Proven leadership experience across transport, logistics, fleet maintenance, mining, or heavy industry.

• Strong track record managing workshop operations, maintenance teams, and financial performance.

• Commercially astute with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

• Skilled in stakeholder management, industrial relations, and leading unionised workforces.

• Safety-focused leader with a proven ability to drive change, continuous improvement, and high-performing teams.
