Job Description

As the Plant Manager, you will oversee all operations of the Barberton, OH and Darien, WI facilities. You will ensure efficient production, compliance with industry standards and plant-wide safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. You will identify and lead continuous improvement projects.

You will be on-site in Barberton, OH and will report to the Director of Industrial Coatings Operations. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics and ensure adherence to customer specifications
• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA PSM and environmental regulations
• Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all teams
• Oversee quality control systems to meet ISO 9000 requirements
• Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement programs
• Improve and ensure production schedules meet customer delivery requirements
• Monitor indicators for throughput, scrap rates, and downtime; implement cost-saving measures
• Lead, coach, and guide development of plant staff to achieve performance goals.
• Foster a collaborative and performance culture
• Ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and quality performance.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs
• Identify opportunities for productivity and OEE improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
• 10+ years of experience managing plant operations and large teams
• Demonstrated track record in managing a unionized workforce and handling collective bargaining, grievances, and industrial relations
• Experience in specialty materials manufacturing including microporous substrates, polymer films, membranes, or other engineered sheet products is highly desirable
• Experience in phosgene-derived specialty chemical products is highly desirable
