Sentara is hiring an Inventory Planner Pharmacy Technician at Norfolk General Hospital

Location: Norfolk General, Norfolk- VA

Status: Full Time (40 Hours/wk)

Shift: Days

Hours: 8 hour shifts rotating between 8am-6pm

*Hours may vary outside of listed hours to meet Pharmacy staffing needs

The Pharmacy Tech Inventory Planner performs the inventory management responsibilities for the pharmacy under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Demonstrates ownership of all pharmacy buyer functions.

• Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area
• Demonstrates the ability to competently work independently
• Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks
• Participates in the training of new employees
• Provides peer coaching and constructive feedback to other colleagues in a professional and productive manner
• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies and medications are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient and financial information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• Training in Pharmacy Inventory job functions
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

  Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  Certification/Licensure

  • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)

  • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)

  Experience

  • 2 Years of Pharmacy Experience (Required)

  • Pharmacy Inventory Experience (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $28.33 - $41.08 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
