Reporting to the Team Leader, the main purpose of this role is to implement a pro-active, specialised approach to the management of whole person impairment (WPI) and provide technical guidance in relation to the strategic management of WPI claims. You will be managing the end-to-end determination of WPI claims for IfNSW agencies in accordance with applicable guidelines, procedures and timeframes
This will be a full time, permanent position based in the Sydney or Tweed Heads office, with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage permanent impairment claims within set targets and KPIs for IfNSW agencies
- Deliver permanent impairment claim outcomes in line with Quality Measures and legislative requirements.
- Provide legal and technical support to strategically manage disputes and litigation in WPI claims
- Attend teleconferences, conciliation and arbitration hearings as required
- Demonstrate effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders as measured by feedback from key stakeholders and outcomes on claims
- Support relationships with external legal providers and clients connected to the IfNSW business unit
ABOUT YOU
- Excellent understanding of the NSW Workers compensation legislation and the associated regulations
- Strong communication, attention to detail and time management skills are essential for this role
- Understanding of permanent impairment benefits and an understanding of dispute determination in the Personal Injury Commission
- At least 12 months experience in claims management
