About Seen Health
At Seen Health, we are revolutionizing the way senior care is delivered through the PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model. Backed by top VCs, Seen Health is a culturally-focused, technology-enabled healthcare organization that integrates comprehensive medical care and social support with a high-touch, interdisciplinary approach.
Our mission is to empower seniors to age-in-place with dignity and provide their families peace of mind. We are building upon a proven Home and community based services model to create a culturally-competent and scalable PACE program. We are also building a comprehensive operating system focused on data and workflows that span across systems, processes, people, and care contexts. We want to empower our clinicians and staff with tools that deliver relevant data at the time and site of care and enable them to deliver exceptional care to our participants, which improve clinical outcomes, participant & provider satisfaction, and ultimately our strength as an organization.
We are a mission-driven, multidisciplinary team with deep healthcare, technology, and operations expertise, each inspired by our own personal stories of caring for seniors in our lives. Our name, Seen Health, was chosen to reflect our commitment to provide the highest standard of care to underserved older adults while respecting and incorporating their individual beliefs, heritage, and values, so that they can truly be seen.
About the Role
We are seeking an experimental builder to drive learning, development, and performance enablement at Seen Health. As our first dedicated L&D hire, you will architect the content and systems that enable sustainable high performance and a culture of continual learning for every team member — from drivers and personal care aides to physicians and center leadership. This role sits on the People team but works across every discipline in the organization. Your mission is to build high-ROI learning and development programs that measurably elevate team capabilities, grow engagement, and improve the care our participants receive.
This is also a role for someone who wants to reinvent how a care organization learns. We build our own technology platforms, we deploy AI in daily clinical and operational workflows, and we expect our L&D function to be built the same way: experimental, data-driven, and pushing us ahead of the industry. PACE is one of the most training-intensive models in healthcare: CMS and DHCS require documented initial and ongoing training for all staff, and our interdisciplinary team (IDT) spans eleven disciplines with very different learning needs. You'll build the systems that make this rigorous, yet genuinely useful for our diverse teams — never a checkbox exercise.
What You'll Do
Tech-forward enablement & learning innovation
- Strategically deploy AI and our in-house technology (Orbit) to accelerate learning, and make it accessible to a multilingual workforce
- Partner with engineering and clinical leadership on how roles evolve as AI becomes embedded in care workflows — and build the training that helps every team member work confidently alongside these tools
- Apply an experimental lens to L&D — ship, gather feedback, and improve. Prioritize getting impactful solutions into the field and evolving them with the business
- Identify, evaluate, and pilot emerging approaches — AI-assisted content generation, simulation and scenario-based training — responsibly within our regulated healthcare context
- Develop and evolve Seen Health's learning roadmap to address immediate business needs while building long-term organizational capabilities.
Onboarding & role readiness
- Design and run a structured onboarding program
- Build discipline-specific ramp plans with clinical and operational leads
- Ensure new hires meet regulatory training requirements with documentation that stands up to audit
Compliance training & competency management
- Own regulatory learning operations, including mandatory training, competency management, licensure tracking, audit readiness, and documentation
- Prepare documentation for CMS/DHCS audits and support corrective action plans when needed
Clinical & operational education
- Partner with the Medical Director and IDT leadership to develop clinical education targeted to serving our population, e.g. dementia and behavioral health care, falls prevention, and culturally responsive care for our predominantly Chinese-speaking participant population
- Develop training for non-clinical teams, e.g. enrollment, transportation, where service quality and participant satisfaction are directly shaped
- Bring in training and hospitality expertise that goes beyond typical healthcare services to elevate our experience standards
Systems, tools & measurement
- Own our learning systems and infrastructure, including LMS administration, content standards, and learning analytics
- Incorporate training on our internal tools, including Orbit, in partnership with the engineering and product teams
- Build train-the-trainer capacity so subject-matter experts can deliver and sustain content
- Define metrics for training effectiveness — time-to-competency, audit readiness, error/incident trends, retention — and report to leadership
Performance enablement & leadership development
- Integrate goal setting, feedback, and accountability into the daily flow of work so the process adds value rather than friction
- Build Seen Health's "performance engine": the systems, tools, and supports needed to scale high performance, including a data-driven, future-focused approach to talent readiness
- Design career pathways and promotional paths to support internal mobility and retention
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in learning & development, clinical education, or workforce development with a diverse mix of clinical and non-clinical roles
- Working knowledge of regulated healthcare training compliance
- Track record of building in ambiguity — creating programs, frameworks, and processes from the ground up, not just inheriting and optimizing an existing catalog
- Comfort operating at multiple altitudes: designing a competency framework in the morning, facilitating a frontline training in the afternoon
- Experience with teaching across a wide skill and role range, from frontline aides to physicians
- Strong LMS/tooling fluency and a bias toward systems that scale
- Excellent organization and detail-orientation
- Strong curiosity and practice building with AI-enabled learning tools, learning analytics, or experience piloting new learning technology in a regulated environment
- Onsite work with team 2-3 days per week at our beautiful center in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles
Nice to have
- Mandarin and/or Cantonese proficiency
- Care delivery background (e.g. social worker, personal care worker) or adult-learning credential (teaching experience, instructional design)
- Experience in a fast-growing, multi-site environment
- Experience with or knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations (ex. CMS guidelines, Medicaid/Medicare requirements, etc.)
Why This Role
You'll define how an entire care organization learns, at the stage where the systems you build become foundational infrastructure. Your work directly determines the quality and safety of care our seniors receive, and you'll do it alongside a leadership team that treats People operations as a core strategic function.
