We are seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join our People & Culture team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will partner closely with leaders across the business to deliver practical HR solutions, provide trusted advice on people matters and support key workforce initiatives that drive business success. You will play a critical role in fostering a positive, high-performing and compliant workplace culture while contributing to a range of strategic and operational People & Culture activities.

About the Role

As a People & Culture Business Partner, you will work directly with leaders and employees to provide expert guidance across the employee lifecycle. You will support workforce planning, employee relations, organisational initiatives and ongoing people programs while building strong relationships across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to understand workforce priorities and deliver effective people solutions that support business objectives.
• Provide timely and practical advice on employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes.
• Manage and support HR/IR case management activities, ensuring fair, consistent and compliant outcomes.
• Coordinate and support key People & Culture activities, including talent acquisition, onboarding, workforce reporting, HRIS processes and people projects.
• Provide guidance on remuneration, benefits, employee recognition programs, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and HR policy interpretation.
• Support the delivery of annual people programs, including performance reviews, talent and succession planning, remuneration reviews, engagement activities and learning initiatives.
• Assist leaders with workforce planning, organisational change and employee retention strategies.
• Analyse workforce data and reporting to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and act as a key advisor on day-to-day people matters.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.

• Ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA security clearance

• Demonstrated experience providing HR or People & Culture advice within a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, industrial relations and Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
• Experience managing employee relations matters and workplace investigations through to resolution.
• Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and coach leaders.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver clear, practical and commercially focused advice.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and navigate ambiguity in a complex environment.
• Experience within Defence, Aviation or another highly regulated industry will be highly regarded but is not essential.

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role. You will also need to satisfy police checks and employment screening verification.
