SUMMARY:

  • The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment with Camp Hill School District is $18.00/hour
  • 5 days of paid time off (PTO) - prorated based on date of hire
  • Special Education Paraprofessionals may support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills Support

OPENINGS:

  • Elementary Life Skills Support Paraprofessional (2):
    • Position at Hoover Elementary School (420 South 24th Street; Camp Hill, PA  17011) – Grades K-2
    • Work hours: 7:50 AM-3:20 PM on all student and PL days.
    • Work will be in a classroom with higher need students and will provide behavioral support in the classroom and instruction in language acquisition.  The District will support training with AAC devices.
    • Some push-in support to specials
    • Employees will need to assist students with toileting.  Materials, including gloves and wipes, will be provided.
    • Will need to be Safe Crisis Management trained

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic, behavioral, social, and personal growth within the classroom and school environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to individual students or small groups, including on-task prompting, social skills development, and self-care assistance.
  • Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans by implementing accommodations and strategies as directed.
  • Reinforce learning concepts, classroom instruction, and skill development to help students achieve their educational goals.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide targeted academic and behavioral support.
  • Assist students in developing organizational, communication, problem-solving, and independent living skills.
  • Guide students through classroom activities, monitor participation and progress, and provide feedback to instructional staff.
  • Promote positive student behavior and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and school administrators to support student success.
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, transitions, and other non-instructional school activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with students while encouraging independence, confidence, and social-emotional growth.

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma required. For Title I positions - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB
  • 2 years post secondary education or higher - preferred
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI
  • TB Screening
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
  • Safe Crisis Management Training (district will provide on a work day)

Formally known as Chester County Regional Education Services, CCRES is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization created in 1999 through a partnership with the Chester County Intermediate Unit to meet the growing need for behavioral health services for children in Chester County, and as a vehicle to give back to the community. CCRES has grown, and now provides vital support for children, families and adults with a range of challenges including autism, behavioral health issues, mental illness as well as intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. CCRES also provides a variety of experienced school administrators to educational agencies throughout the region. Using a team approach, we work in collaboration with school districts, intermediate units, and other programs serving children and adults with specialized needs. We continue to expand our reach, serving neighboring counties including Berks, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Lebanon, and Lancaster.
