Role Overview
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of Chartis's operational functions. You will provide operational leadership and hands-on support across research production, client success, sales operations, finance support, project management and team leadership.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that internal support functions operate efficiently, key deliverables are achieved on schedule and business processes are continuously improved. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior stakeholders, you will act as a central operational point of coordination across multiple functions.
The role requires a proactive and highly organised professional who is comfortable managing a broad range of responsibilities while leading a geographically dispersed team and driving operational excellence across the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting, Publishing & Research Delivery
- Oversee research production schedules, ensuring key milestones are tracked and delivered on time.
- Manage end-to-end publication workflows, coordinating with analyst, editorial and design teams.
- Ensure research outputs are delivered efficiently, accurately and to consistently high quality standards.
- Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks that may impact delivery schedules.
- Maintain the company's research archive, ensuring records are securely retained and accessible when required.
Team, Client & Vendor Operations
- Oversee onboarding processes for new employees, clients and vendors.
- Coordinate operational handovers and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- Manage relationships with operational vendors and service providers.
- Support the client success function to maintain high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Finance, Accounting & Executive Support
- Prepare and review operational and financial reports to support business decision-making.
- Manage invoice approval workflows and support finance administration activities.
- Provide day-to-day operational support to the Managing Director.
- Act as a key point of contact for operational matters across the business.
Sales Operations
- Support CRM administration, data integrity and sales process management.
- Produce sales pipeline reporting and performance analysis.
- Partner with commercial teams to improve reporting processes and operational efficiency.
- Help optimise sales workflows and support effective revenue operations.
People Management
- Manage, coach and develop a team of direct reports located across multiple locations.
- Set measurable objectives and key performance indicators.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, one-to-one meetings and development discussions.
- Oversee workload allocation, resource planning and team prioritisation.
- Promote collaboration and effective communication across teams and time zones.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Ensure operational support functions run efficiently and effectively.
- Identify, investigate and resolve operational issues proactively.
- Review, document and improve operational processes and workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and support business objectives.
Requirements
Essential Experience
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar operational leadership position.
- Demonstrable experience managing operational processes across multiple business functions.
- Experience supporting reporting, project management, sales operations and business administration activities.
- Strong proficiency in Salesforce, Power BI, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude or similar platforms.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, clients and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Highly Desirable
- Experience within a research, advisory, publishing, information services or media organisation.
- Previous experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
- Proficiency with HubSpot and additional CRM or business intelligence platforms.
- Experience supporting business growth through process optimisation and operational transformation.
- Knowledge of financial services, risk management or technology markets.
- Project management qualifications or equivalent practical experience.
