Project

The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.

Position

The Operations Data Specialist is part of Woodfibre LNG's Engineering Support team and is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Engineering Data Warehouse (EDW). The role will establish data standards, support structured engineering data handover from project to operations, and enable controlled data exchange between Woodfibre LNG, engineering suppliers, EPC contractors, vendors, technology partners, and internal stakeholders.

This position will support engineering and asset data flow across multiple engineering platforms, including any future project updates that are governed through Management of Change (MOC) before being incorporated into the EDW. The successful candidate will bring a technical foundation, combined with engineering information management, data analytics, and product implementation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will:

· Lead the implementation, configuration, build-out, and operational deployment of the Engineering Data Warehouse (EDW).

· Develop and maintain EDW implementation plans, schedules, work packages, risks, actions, and decision logs.

· Establish operations phase engineering data management standards, metadata requirements, data quality rules, validation workflows, and ways of working for EDW users and data contributors.

· Coordinate the receipt, review, validation, and acceptance of engineering data, as-built documentation, asset registers, tag data, vendor information, and handover deliverables from the project.

· Work closely with Document Control to align document numbering, revision control, metadata, transmittals, handover packages, and document-data linkages.

· Work closely with IT to support EDW architecture, system access, integrations, cybersecurity requirements, data storage, backup, system performance, and long-term support model.

· Support integration with third-party engineering suppliers, EPC contractors, vendors, and technology partners to enable controlled exchange of engineering data, drawings, asset information, and project deliverables.

· Manage data movement between engineering platforms and the EDW during brownfield projects, ensuring updates, as-built changes, and asset data revisions are captured, validated, and governed through the MOC process before being incorporated into the EDW.

· Translate engineering, operations, maintenance, and project handover requirements into practical data structures, reporting requirements, dashboards, and governance processes.

· Develop Power BI dashboards and analytics outputs to support engineering information completeness, data quality, handover progress, operational readiness, and management reporting.

· Define and monitor data quality metrics, completeness checks, exception reports, and remediation plans for missing, inconsistent, duplicated, or non-compliant data.

· Support the development of handover acceptance criteria and progressive handover processes to ensure engineering and asset information is ready for operations, maintenance, regulatory, and management system use.

· Provide user support, training materials, work instructions, and adoption support for EDW users and data stewards.

· Manage interfaces with EDW vendors, system integrators, engineering contractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain implementation momentum.

· Work across multiple engineering and information management platforms, including common data environments, document management systems, engineering design tools, asset information systems, analytics tools, and related integration interfaces.

· Contribute to the long-term engineering information management strategy, including EDW governance, lifecycle ownership, continuous improvement, and integration with other business systems.

Requirements

Required Experience:

· 8+ years of experience in engineering data management, information management, digital engineering, asset information handover, data warehousing, or similar roles in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, utilities, infrastructure, or other large industrial environments.

· Experience supporting large capital project handover, commissioning/startup, operations readiness, or transition from project delivery into operations.

· Strong understanding of engineering data types, including tag registers, equipment lists, line lists, instrument indexes, drawings, specifications, vendor data, maintenance master data, and as-built records.

· Demonstrated experience establishing or improving data standards, metadata requirements, document control interfaces, data quality processes, and information governance practices.

· Familiarity with multiple engineering platforms, common data environments, document management systems, and engineering design or asset information tools used to manage technical data across the project and operations lifecycle.

· Strong working knowledge of Power BI or similar analytics/reporting tools, with the ability to develop dashboards, data quality reports, and executive-ready progress reporting.

· Experience working with databases, data models, structured data sets, ETL or data integration processes, system interfaces, and data validation routines.

· Demonstrated data analytics experience, including the ability to interpret engineering and asset data, identify data quality issues, develop reporting logic, and produce practical insights for project delivery, operational readiness, and operations support.

· Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional implementation work involving engineering, document control, IT, project delivery, operations, maintenance, vendors, and contractors.

· Product or system implementation experience, including configuration, testing, rollout planning, user adoption, training, transition to support, and continuous improvement after go-live.

· Experience working in and managing an Engineering Data Warehouse (or Digital Twin) for a large industrial facility

Additional Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, drafting technology, engineering technology, information management, data management, computer science, information systems, project management, or a related technical discipline.

· Technical background in LNG, oil and gas, petrochemical, or other large industrial facilities, with practical understanding of drawings, engineering deliverables, equipment data, asset registers, and how technical information is used through design, construction, commissioning, operations, and brownfield modifications.

· Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and change adoption skills, with the ability to translate technical data requirements into practical business processes.

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities, implementation issues, data quality actions, and stakeholder requests.

· Sound judgment in data governance, access management, data quality, system readiness, and operational decision-making environments.

· Experience with relevant tools such as Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, SQL or database tools, document management systems, common data environments, engineering data warehouses, digital twin platforms, engineering design platforms, and system integration or data exchange tools.

· High attention to detail and a practical understanding of how engineering and asset data is used by Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSSE, Regulatory, and Management System processes.

· The position is based in the Vancouver Office, with travel to the Squamish site and project offices as required to support project handover, stakeholder engagement, and implementation activities.

Only qualified candidates legally entitled to work in Canada will be contacted.
