The Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) Transaction Manager is part of the UK Business Performance Team within the Global Offshore Business reporting to the Head of Regulated Transactions. The OFTO Transaction Manager is responsible for managing all commercial aspects of the UK offshore wind business OFTO divestment process.

The OFTO Transaction Manager, together with the Senior Transaction Manager and OFTO Transaction Cost Manager, will manage the OFTO divestment process for Iberdrola and will develop and maintain relationships with Ofgem and the Project Teams to ensure that the maximum value is recovered through the sale process.

The OFTO Transaction Manager will be working as part of a global business with activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world. The position may require frequent travel to various locations in the UK.

What you’ll be doing 

· Communicate with geographically diverse multi-functional teams of external consultants and internal experts from across the Global Offshore Wind business.

· Oversee the vendor Due Diligence process, ensuring that the data room provides full analysis of the project and justification for costs incurred.

· Develop and maintain effective relationships with all relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to internal Heads of/Director level, Ofgem, Preferred Bidder for EA2, future OFTO bidders and DESNZ etc. to support the successful delivery of the OFTO Transaction.

· Manage information requests from Ofgem, the Preferred Bidder for EA2, and the future OFTO bidders during the OFTO transaction process to ensure accurate and timely responses are provided.

· For the Offshore projects in the UK, influence the cost allocation process to ensure that OFTO costs are clearly identified and evidence is available to prove that they have been efficiently and economically incurred.

· Accountable for the successful delivery of key transaction sub-workstreams within the wider OFTO transaction workstream.

· Provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders throughout the business on the progress of the transaction and gain approval at the appropriate time/level to progress the transaction through each stage of the divestment process.

· Implement a lessons learned process and hold periodic lesson learned sessions to ensure future projects benefit from experience.

· Develop innovative and creative solutions to resolve conflicts internally and with counterparties to ensure a successful transaction.

· Organise and plan the activities required for the OFTO Transaction in line with the regulated programme and ensuring that wider objectives set by the Head of Regulated Transactions and Senior OFTO Transaction Manager are delivered.

What you’ll bring 

· Ability to interpret, assess and constructively challenge financial, technical, legal and commercial analysis, drawing on relevant experience within the offshore wind, renewable energy, or oil and gas sector to test project assumptions, identify material risks and opportunities, and support informed decision-making across complex infrastructure transactions.

· Experience managing due diligence, information memoranda, disclosure processes, data room content and bidder or regulator information requests to support robust transaction delivery.

·Strong commercial judgement and the ability to identify, assess and manage contractual,

financial, technical, legal and regulatory risks throughout the OFTO divestment process.

· Advanced interpersonal, stakeholder management and internal networking skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all organisational levels, influence outcomes and constructively challenge across business, project and external stakeholder groups.

· Clearly articulate requirements, expectations, risks and commercial positions, and hold responsible parties to account for timely delivery of information, actions and agreed outputs.

· Strong problem-solving skills across a wide range of issues and subject matters including the ability to develop pragmatic commercial solutions to resolve issues, conflicts or competing objectives internally and with counterparties.

· The ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise key tasks, while working with multi-disciplinary, multi-location teams and external advisers, each with potentially differing views, aims and objectives, under regulated programme timescales.

· Self-motivated and delivery focused with the ability to take initiative and manage time effectively and produce high-quality outputs across a varied and challenging workload.

· Strong ability to manage own performance, with focus on delivery within a varied and challenging workload whilst producing high-quality results.

· Able to assess and respond to commercial issues at short notice, presenting clear recommendations to senior stakeholders to support decision-making and approvals.

· Good understanding of health and safety principles and their application in the management of large-scale projects and assets and associated activities

· Experience of quality standards, procurement management and governance processes relevant to complex infrastructure or energy transactions.

· The candidate must be a team player, able to work effectively in a pressured environment balancing detail with the wider strategic and long-term implications of commercial decisions.
