    East Jefferson General Hospital, a premier member of LCMC Health, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurohospitalist to join our growing neuroscience team. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice inpatient neurology in a collaborative, physician-led environment while helping advance neurological care for patients across the Greater New Orleans region.

    As a Neurohospitalist, you will provide comprehensive inpatient neurological care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and play a key role in delivering timely, evidence-based treatment for acute and complex neurological conditions.

    Responsibilities

    Patient Care

    • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic neurological disorders.
    • Provide inpatient consultations and ongoing neurological management for hospitalized patients.
    • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
    • Coordinate care with hospitalists, critical care physicians, neurosurgeons, emergency medicine providers, therapists, and nursing staff.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans.
    • Respond promptly to patient care needs, consultations, and emergent neurological situations.
    • Promote high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting optimal clinical outcomes.

    Patient Access & Care Coordination

    • Participate in an equitable physician call schedule.
    • Facilitate efficient consultations and continuity of care.
    • Support smooth transitions of care and appropriate outpatient follow-up.

    Quality & Safety

    • Adhere to all regulatory, quality, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices.
    • Recognize and respond appropriately to neurological emergencies and acute changes in patient condition.
    • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and medical staff requirements.

    Leadership & Collaboration

    • Partner with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, clinical initiatives, and program development efforts.
    • Serve as a trusted resource for colleagues and clinical staff regarding neurological care.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

    Training

    • Completion of an accredited Neurology Residency Program.
    • Fellowship training in Vascular Neurology, Neurocritical Care, or a related subspecialty is welcome but not required.

    Licensure & Certifications

    • Current or eligible Louisiana Medical License through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
    • Eligibility for medical staff membership and clinical privileges at East Jefferson General Hospital.
