Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARYL

The Neurodiagnostic Tech EMG/NCV prepares patients for and conducts routine Neurodiagnostic procedures, such as neonatal exams, at the bedside, and in critical care units, on all ages of patients served by the department independently. Collects data pertinent to the interpretation of test results and assists other senior technologists or medical staff with complex recordings.

SHIFT/SCHEDULE:

  • Fulltime | M-F | 5x8s | 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM

  • No on call shift requirements | No weekends | No holidays

  • Location: Franklin Neurology

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all Neurodiagnostic procedures as assigned associated with the proper execution of EEG and at least one other modality in accordance with the established department and hospital policies and procedures.

  • Assists to identify patient and family learning needs and provides pertinent information regarding the procedure that is appropriate for age and level of learning to the patient and/or family.

  • Assists the Lead Neurodiagnostic Lab Technologist in the oversight of lab operations and training of staff.

  • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.


TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

  • Diagnostic Testing (Intermediate): Demonstrates proficiency of diagnostic testing in practical applications. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results.

  • Equipment Maintenance (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of preventive maintenance in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully maintaining equipment, products, or systems without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to conduct predictive maintenance on core products and equipment.

  • Medical Terminology & Documentation (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.

  • Patient Evaluation (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of patient evaluations in practical applications of a difficult nature. Demonstrates experience in the evaluation process. Demonstrates a solid understanding of internal control concepts and experience in applying them to the diagnosis. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering patient evaluations without requiring support and instruction from others.
