Job Overview:

In this strategic role, you will work at the intersection of mobile network engineering, software development, data analytics, and automation. Initial focus in Radio Access Network (RAN) automation and network analytics, progressively moving from network insights towards closed-loop and autonomous network operations across all network domains.

Role Insights:

• Automation Development & Software Engineering: Translate manual engineering and optimization activities into scalable software workflows. Develop automation processes triggered by schedules, APIs, or network anomalies, applying modern software practices (CI/CD, containerization, modular development) to transition from isolated scripts to robust automation components.
• Platform Architecture & Vendor Integration: Lead "Build-vs-Buy" analyses by technically evaluating major telecom vendor platforms (SON, orchestration). Integrate internal A1 systems with external platforms via APIs to establish a vendor-independent automation layer across different A1 operating companies.
• Data Architecture & Analytics: Develop mechanisms to collect, normalize, and correlate operational data (performance counters, alarms, topology). Contribute to data modeling using relational, analytical, and object-storage technologies to support anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and capacity planning.
• Cross-Domain Strategy & Collaboration: Work closely with engineers across A1 Group to identify reusable use cases. Guide the technical direction of autonomous network initiatives, exploring emerging concepts like AI-assisted operations, intent-driven networking, and O-RAN architectures.

What Makes You Unique:

• Proven experience in software development, automation, or network engineering with an analytical mindset to break down complex processes.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or another general-purpose programming language.
• Solid understanding of APIs, REST services, JSON, and system integration concepts.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and modern collaborative development (Git).
• Ability to independently investigate technologies and build proof-of-concept prototypes.
• Telecom & Mobile Networks: LTE/5G RAN architecture, network KPIs, configuration management, SON concepts, or OSS/NMS environments (Nokia NetAct, Ericsson ENM).
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with LTE/5G RAN architecture, network KPIs, configuration management, SON concepts, or OSS/NMS environments, such as Nokia NetAct or Ericsson ENM.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud-native architectures, microservices, or modern observability and data platforms such as Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, or ClickHouse.
• Knowledge of O-RAN, AI/ML-based network analytics and anomaly detection, network orchestration, or autonomous network concepts, including SMO, Non-RT RIC, and rApps.
