What you will do
Develop and enhance functionality of an internal corporate HR system.
Analyze and safely modify existing legacy .NET code, XML configurations, XSLT transformations, and generated components.
Investigate existing subsystems and reconstruct their logic based on code, data structures, and system behavior.
Clarify requirements with business stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions, specifications, and development tasks.
Develop algorithms, modules, and integrations with internal corporate systems and external services.
Work with SQL databases, ORM, SSRS, IIS and related infrastructure components.
Diagnose issues across the application, IIS, database, integrations, Office, and operating system.
Contribute to the gradual modernization of the legacy system and migration to a modern .NET stack.
Create technical documentation and, when needed, provide guidance to users, developers, and administrators.
Qualifications and experience needed
2+ years of commercial experience developing enterprise solutions with C# and .NET Framework.
Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and separation of responsibilities.
Hands-on experience working with legacy .NET Framework code and willingness to work with older approaches and APIs.
Ability to read, analyze, and safely modify unfamiliar legacy code.
Practical experience with ASP.NET Web Forms and understanding of the web application lifecycle.
Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases, indexes, transactions, and query optimization.
Practical experience with XML, XSD, XML validation, and XSLT.
Understanding of ORM principles and experience with NHibernate, Entity Framework, or a similar technology.
Experience with Microsoft IIS and troubleshooting ASP.NET application deployment and runtime issues.
Experience integrating systems via REST API, SOAP, or web services; understanding of HTTP, authorization, data formats, TLS, and certificates.
Experience with Git, basic MSBuild, and understanding of CI/CD and the software development lifecycle.
Experience with Jira and Confluence and ability to document technical solutions and changes.
Ability to clarify requirements with business stakeholders and translate business needs into technical tasks.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with developers, administrators, analysts, and business stakeholders.
Higher technical education, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT
A plus would be
Experience with NHibernate, SSRS, XML/XSLT code generation.
Experience generating Excel/Word documents without COM.
Knowledge of modern .NET, ASP.NET Core, EF Core, or Dapper.
Experience with React, message brokers, and automated testing.
Experience with legacy system modernization, gradual refactoring, and migration to modern technologies.
Experience working with large-scale enterprise or corporate systems.
