Multi-skilled Operative

Salary up to £39,646.94 per annum, plus, company van & fuel card

42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday- Friday)

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi-Skilled Operative to join our team, supporting a busy voids contract in Leeds. This is a hands-on role focused on preparing empty social housing properties to a safe, high-quality, lettable standard, helping residents move into homes that are ready first time.

You will work across a range of void properties, carrying out end-to-end repairs and refurbishment works across multiple trades. This role offers strong workload stability and the opportunity to take pride in delivering properties back to clients efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Duties:

• Carry out repairs and maintenance within void social housing properties, ensuring homes are returned to a lettable standard.
• Complete general carpentry repairs, including skirting boards, architraves, doors, locks and kitchen units.
• Undertake minor plumbing repairs, including leaks, taps and blocked sinks.
• Carry out patch plastering and make good walls and ceilings.
• Complete minor wall and floor tiling, grouting and sealing.
• Undertake painting and decorating as required as part of void refurbishment works.
• Identify and report additional repairs, defects or follow-on works.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Accurately record completed works, materials used and job information.
• Manage workloads effectively to support void turnaround times and property handovers.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles in good working order.
• Work in line with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures.

Role Criteria:

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating)

• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
• Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota
