Supports Facilities Engineering activities by assisting engineers with engineering studies, project development, facility improvement initiatives, asset integrity activities, construction support, and technical documentation. Gains practical experience in offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Works under the guidance of experienced engineers to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations while building knowledge of engineering standards, project management processes, operational excellence principles, and Chevron's safety culture.
Job Purpose
The Facilities Engineering Intern provides engineering and project support to the Facilities Engineering team. The role offers practical exposure to facility design, operations support, asset integrity, project execution, construction activities, and operational excellence initiatives. The intern works alongside engineers and cross-functional teams to gain hands-on experience while contributing to safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of oil and gas facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Facilities Engineers with engineering evaluations, calculations, and technical studies.
- Support development and maintenance of engineering documentation, drawings, datasheets, and technical reports.
- Participate in facility inspections, site visits, and field data collection activities.
- Assist with project planning, cost tracking, schedule development, and progress reporting for small engineering projects.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) activities and documentation requirements.
- Assist with asset integrity and reliability initiatives, including equipment performance reviews and maintenance improvement projects.
- Support preparation of construction work packages and engineering deliverables.
- Analyze operational and equipment performance data using engineering and business software tools.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and Operational Excellence activities.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, project teams, contractors, and technical specialists.
- Support preparation of presentations, reports, and business communications.
- Complete assigned engineering projects and present findings to management and stakeholders.
