Expertise and Functions

• Provide support to Program/Project Manager, Contracting, or mid-level Engineering personnel in the areas of program scheduling, configuration management, finance and accounting, contracting, data analyses, database development or manipulation, preparation of technical/program reports or briefings, test plans and reports, and associated documentation, test or validation/verification assistance
• Plan/oversee test or project events as assigned by Program Manager or Engineering supervisor, reports status and results
• Demonstrate some creativity in problem solving and/or creating new ideas.
• Utilize effective communication with employees and management
• Manage workflow in production area meeting production thru-put, quality and waste guidelines
• Trackproduction thru-put, temperature, humidity of clean room production areas and storage areas
• Practice in FIFO inventory plans when using materials
• Audit work orders to verify actual production steps match work order and the materials listed match what is being used
• Track and improve scrap and waste issues
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed with employees and the product meets all Quality, Safety and customer requirements
• Audit and ensure all material logs are maintained and SDS sheets are current and available on all materials in the shop
• Coordinate and work with Project Managers to ensure timelines are met and products are delivered on schedule
• Ensure that travelers are all properly followed and filled out and that timesheets are accurately filled out daily
• Complete and document training and employee evaluations
• Move raw materials and finished goods and stage for continuous workflow
• Ensure materials are on hand that will be needed to complete the work
• Ensure that the areas are kept clean and tidy, following the cleaning schedules required for each area
• Work on ways to reduce waste and improve process flow, try to understand and resolve production issues
• Report any non-conformances to quality
• Arrive every day ready to work in a safe working environment, with a positive safety attitude and execution
• Operate with a minimum of supervision within established systems and procedures
• Analyze and interpret inventory information and data, to determine current production status such as raw materials on hand, parts on order, parts in process, past usage, lead time required, etc.
• Print drawings and create job packets for use by production
• Ensure job packets are handled and released to the floor per standard and policy
• Schedule work cells, ensuring orders are handled in accordance with our processes
• Expedite shop jobs by working with receiving, shipping, engineering, and production
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Managerial Duties

• Execute personnel-related activities to include:
• Create realistic and accurate job descriptions
• Direct employee workload to ensure productivity and performance against job description
• Engage to manage positive employee relations and workplace atmosphere; work to resolve any personnel issues
• Conduct ongoing feedback – both informal and semiannual feedback, counseling if necessary
• Advise management as to which employees deserve recognition including but not limited to raises, promotions and awards
• Manage accuracy of employee timecards
• Ensure employees receive and perform any required training for position and company needs
• Guide employees to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies/processes
• Serve as link between upper management and employees; disseminate company information as appropriate – goals/changes/updates/news
• Coordinate with Director and/or VP on corporate matters
• Other managerial duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Training: 

• Associates's Degree in management or technicial/scientific discipline preferred
• Working knowledge of machine preventative maintenance planning and leading TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) teams preferred

Experience:

• Proven experience leading Corrective Action Teams
• Proven track record in mentoring employees and successful change management
• Current KIHOMAC employees are encouraged to apply

Security:

• Must be a US citizen
• Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking, able to bend, stretch, work with hands, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
• Must be able to visually inspect machines
• Must be able to wear required safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and respirator as needed
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
