Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable, secure, high-performance enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Define overall solution architecture, application architecture, technical standards, and design principles.
- Translate business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions and architectural designs.
- Lead the design and development of applications using C#, .NET Core/.NET 5+ and RESTful Web APIs.
- Define and implement microservices, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures where appropriate.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate design patterns, architectural patterns, frameworks, tools, and technologies.
- Design solutions considering scalability, availability, reliability, maintainability, performance, and security.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams and conduct architecture/design/code reviews.
- Develop reusable frameworks, components, libraries, and technical accelerators to improve development efficiency.
- Define integration strategies using REST APIs, messaging, event-driven architecture, and third-party integrations.
- Design and optimize data architecture using Microsoft SQL Server, NoSQL databases, Entity Framework/ORM, and appropriate data-access patterns.
- Define and drive CI/CD, DevOps, automation, deployment, and release strategies.
- Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Establish and promote software engineering best practices, coding standards, testing strategies, and architectural governance.
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, engineering teams, and other architects to drive technical decisions.
- Mentor developers and senior engineers on architecture, design patterns, coding practices, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years of experience in software development with strong expertise in C# and .NET/.NET Core (5+).
- Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs / ASP.NET Web API.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, SOLID principles, clean code, and core design patterns.
- Strong knowledge of architectural patterns, including:
- Microservices Architecture
- Layered/N-Tier Architecture
- Clean Architecture
- Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Event-Driven Architecture
- CQRS and related patterns
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable application design.
- Experience with Entity Framework / ORM and data-access architecture.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server and familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, exception handling, concurrency, and performance optimization.
- Experience designing applications for high availability, scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
- Strong knowledge of software design principles and enterprise application architecture.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD and DevOps methodologies.
- Working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo or equivalent source-control and CI/CD tools.
- Strong experience in unit, integration, component, and automated testing.
- Understanding of TDD and BDD is an advantage.
- Good understanding of application security principles, authentication/authorization, API security, and secure coding practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure / AWS and cloud-native application architecture.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/containerized applications.
- Knowledge of messaging/event platforms such as Azure Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
- Experience with Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, or other modern UI technologies.
- Knowledge of observability, logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, and application performance management.
- Experience with API Management, caching, CDN, load balancing, and performance optimization.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), technical documentation, UML, and architecture diagrams.
- Experience leading architecture modernization, legacy application transformation, or migration to cloud/microservices.
