Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. We’re Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED required. 

• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.

What You’ll Do:

Schedule: Clinic hours are from 6:30am- 4:30pm; main hours of this position are 8:00am- 4:30pm, Monday – Friday.  No Holidays and no weekends.  Occasional travel to other Milwaukee Endocrinology clinics may be minimally required such as Rivercenter Dr., N 76th St., Mayfair South, Greenfield (Loomis Rd. and Six Points) or Franklin (Oakwood Pk. Ct. and Loomis Rd.).  

As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. 

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.

• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.

• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.

• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.

• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.

• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.

• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

At the Aurora St. Luke’s Endocrinology clinic, our multidisciplinary team works together to deliver life-changing care for patients navigating complex hormonal and metabolic disorders. From managing advanced diabetes therapies and thyroid conditions to treating complex pituitary and adrenal disorders, every professional plays a critical role in the patient journey. Our PSRs anchor the clinic by managing patient access and coordination, while our clinical team of MAs, LPNs, and RNs collaborate closely to provide specialized clinical assessments, critical patient education, and comprehensive care plans. Operating within a major medical center like Aurora St. Luke's, you will work at the top of your license in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that blends cutting-edge endocrine medicine with deeply compassionate, continuous patient relationships.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
• Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
• Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
• Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
• Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
• Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
