Über diese Mechanical Foreman Stelle bei Fulton Hogan
Mō te tūranga | About the role
With a growing workload across the South Island, we’re looking for a Mechanical Foreman to join our M&E team in Central Otago. Whether you’re already based in Wānaka or nearby, or keen to be part of projects in the region, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a hands on site leadership role across water, wastewater, industrial services, and process infrastructure projects. You’ll work as part of a team that brings together mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and controls disciplines to deliver complex work that matters.
You’ll interpret drawings, install and fit pipework, plant, and mechanical equipment, and tack weld pipework on site before it goes away for final welding. As a lead hand, you’ll keep things moving, set clear expectations, and work side by side with the team to deliver Good Work safely and to a high standard. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and we’re looking for someone who brings that same balance to site.
Key role responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, install, assemble, and align mechanical equipment, pipework, and associated components on construction sites.
- Plan and prioritise work to ensure jobs are delivered safely on time and to a high standard.
- Read and work from drawings, isometrics, and site plans to complete mechanical fit-up work accurately.
- Carry out pipe fitting, mechanical installation, and site modification work to meet project requirements and quality standards.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance, coaching and problem-solving on the tools when needed.
- Complete job records, maintenance documentation, and reporting accurately and on time.
- Confidently tack weld pipework and components on site to support fit-up and fabrication before final welding.
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and site crews to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality project outcomes.
- Promote strong safety, quality, and productivity standards, while supporting a positive, team-first site culture.
We’re looking for someone with
- Have 5+ years as a Mechanical Fitter / Welder in an industrial or engineering company
- A relevant NZ Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Trade (Level 4) with a Fitting and Machining or Maintenance Engineering strand.
- Good ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and work from technical plans and drawings.
- A proactive, team-focused approach.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- A good understanding of safe work practices.
You’ll bring hands-on mechanical expertise to water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment plants and pump stations.
