The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, components and subassemblies required to support production in an enclosures manufacturing environment. This role balances supply and demand, maintains optimal inventory levels and collaborates cross-functionally to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Plan and schedule material requirements based on production forecasts and customer orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular analysis and system updates.
- Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to manage lead times, expedite deliveries and resolve shortages.
- Align material availability with production schedules to prevent downtime and delays.
- Analyze demand trends and adjust planning strategies accordingly.
- Maintain and update ERP/MRP system data, including bills of materials and planning parameters.
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce excess inventory, waste and costs.
- Communicate material risks, constraints and recovery plans to internal stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain and operations.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of materials planning, production planning or supply chain experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
