Shift 5:45p to 6am Monday - Thursday

Compensation starts at $21.50/hr

Night Shift premium $1.50/hr

Under general supervision, the Material Handler I prepares and packages finished coils in a safe manner to a designated location.  This includes operating exit recoiler controls, packaging equipment and driving a forklift. Communicates daily with employees from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities *

• Responsible for fulfilling exit assistant duties including operating exit recoiler controls, operating the packaging line and driving a forklift. 
• Responsible for verifying that finished goods are properly identified with an identification ticket prior to moving them to a storage area 
• Responsible for preparing materials to be used for packaging and shipping of finished coils 
• Responsible for quarantining non-conforming material and notifying Quality Control when non-conforming conditions exist 
• Communicates daily with internal personnel from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals 
• Transport a bore horizontal coil from the coil cart to the proper location including using a coil mat/chock. 

Education & Experience Qualifications

Minimum: 

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or experience  

Preferred: 

• One year of Manufacturing Experience 

Skills & Competencies

• Basic computer skills 

• Time Management – prioritizing work to meet internal and/or external customer demands 

• Detail Oriented – ensures accuracy of product and documentation to meet internal and/or external customer demands 

• Good communication skills
