Manufacturing Test Software Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Test Software Engineer to join our team and help develop reliable, scalable, and high-quality manufacturing test solutions for HP products.

In this role, you will work with product development, factory, quality, and external partners to design, implement, validate, and improve test software used in manufacturing. You will support both new product introduction and sustaining programs, helping to ensure product quality, production readiness, and factory efficiency.

This role is ideal for junior-to-mid level engineers who enjoy software development, test automation, problem solving, and working closely with both engineering and manufacturing teams. You will also have opportunities to work with emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, image processing, and advanced automation to improve test coverage, strengthen defect detection, and optimize manufacturing efficiency.

Engineers with strong programming fundamentals and a keen interest in test automation, embedded systems, image processing, or AI/ML applications are also welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support manufacturing test solutions with product development and production teams to ensure product quality, performance, and manufacturability.
• Design, implement, and validate test software for new and existing products across mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and system-level requirements.
• Work with internal teams and external partners to support project execution, production readiness, and issue resolution.
• Support the creation, validation, and delivery of reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing test packages.
• Represent the manufacturing test team in project discussions, technical reviews, and issue-resolution forums.
• Provide training, documentation, and technical support to users within and outside HP.
• Improve test software robustness and support factory and quality teams in troubleshooting production issues.
• Analyse test failures, identify root causes, and recommend improvements to product design, test coverage, and manufacturing quality.
• Optimize test solutions to improve throughput, reduce test cycle time, and enhance factory productivity.

Knowledge and Skills

• Experience or strong interest in software development, test automation, embedded systems, firmware, image processing, AI/ML, and autonomous or agentic solutions.
• Programming knowledge in languages and tools such as Python, SQL, VB, C#, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with data analysis, software testing methodology, test plan execution, debugging, test scripts, and automation tools.
• Interest or exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and related frameworks will be an advantage.
• Ability to understand software, hardware, and system-level requirements and translate them into practical test solutions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and local language.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Scope and Impact

• Supports product quality, manufacturing readiness, delivery timelines, and factory efficiency.
• Works closely with software engineering leaders, architects, technology leads, product development teams, factories, and external partners.
• Contributes to timely technical issue resolution and continuous improvement of manufacturing test effectiveness.
   

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• More than 7 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Engineer with strong programming fundamentals and interest in test automation, embedded systems, image processing, or AI/ML applications are welcome to apply.
