What will you do?

As a Software Engineering Manager at Cat Digital's Slovakian branch, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of engineers, delivering innovative digital solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of complex solutions:

• Providing technical support, and direction to teams and team leaders. Acquiring resources necessary to accomplish work on time.

• Overseeing performance of individual team members and team as a whole. Identifying and addressing staff training and development needs.

• Coordinating walkthroughs and reviews, ensuring conformance to standards and adherence to design specifications.

This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT in the US.

What you have: 

• Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.

• Organizational Leadership: Knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives.

• Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.

• Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace. 

• Software Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into software product design. 

• Formal education from in relevant field (such as Computer Science, Technology Management, Electrical Engineering) or experience in relevant field.

• Solid experience in software engineering, and/or hands-on software development team management role.

• Experience leading software development projects.

• Technical skills in software development, architecture, and design.

• Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

 
Top candidates will also have:

• Experience in public cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.

• Experience with generative AI principles and product implementation.

• Demonstrated leadership on medium or larger projects impacting strategic priorities.

• Ability to cope with shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proven ability to handle high-pressure environment.
