About the role

The Manager, Project Risk Management is responsible for designing, implementing, and leading a comprehensive risk management framework across projects as part of The Nuclear Company. This role works cross-functionally with leadership and project teams to identify, assess, prioritize, and mitigate risks that could impact the successful execution of projects across the fleet. The Manager will ensure that project-level risks are consistently integrated into enterprise-level reporting, creating a holistic view of company-wide risk exposure.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, executive presence, and the ability to translate complex risk concepts into clear, actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making. This position will report into the Director, Project Controls.

Responsibilities

Project Risk Framework & Governance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Project Risk Management applicable to all projects across the fleet
  • Work with Project Leadership Team to develop project risk registers, utilizing templates where possible to facilitate fleet level risk management
  • Establish and monitor Key Risk Indicators, dashboards, and risk reporting mechanisms across the portfolio of projects

Risk Assessment & Reporting

  • Lead periodic risk assessments across all projects
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks using qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Prepare clear and concise risk reports for the Project Leadership Team as well as the Senior Leadership Team

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Facilitate risk workshops, scenario planning, and emerging risk discussions with representatives across all project workstreams and functional areas
  • Ensure project-level risks appropriately roll up into enterprise risk categories

Mitigation & Monitoring

  • Track risk response plans and monitor mitigation progress
  • Evaluate control effectiveness and recommend enhancements

Culture & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a risk-aware culture through training and communication
  • Stay current with best practices, regulatory expectations, and industry trends (including nuclear-specific risk considerations)

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, JD, MS in Risk Management) preferred
  • 8–12 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, or consulting
  • Deep understanding of risk frameworks (COSO ERM, ISO 31000)
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and executive influence skills
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information into actionable insights
  • Experience working with both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with risk management systems and dashboards
  • Nuclear industry experience
  • Experience implementing INPO 15-011
  • Experience with AI-powered contract lifecycle management platforms (e.g., Icertis, Agiloft) for obligation tracking, risk scoring, and automated clause analysis
  • Familiarity with AI-driven contract analytics tools (e.g., Kira Systems, Luminance) for extracting key provisions, identifying risk areas, and supporting compliance in regulated environments

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $118,000 - $140,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
