JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Manager of Cash and Revenue Accounting is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting, close, reconciliation, and control activities related to cash, revenue, and related balance sheet accounts in a publicly traded U.S. GAAP environment.This role is especially important in a post-material weakness and restatement context, with responsibility for executing, strengthening, and sustaining accurate, well-documented processes and controls that support timely close, audit readiness, and reliable financial reporting.

Reporting to the Director of Cash and Revenue Accounting, this role will manage cash and revenue accounting activities, supervise team members, and partner closely with Treasury, FP&A, AR/AP, Financial Reporting, Tax, Systems, and Internal and External Audit.

The successful candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, disciplined review skills, and the ability to identify risks, resolve issues, and drive accountability across recurring accounting processes. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely execution and continuous improvement of account reconciliations, journal entries, documentation, and control execution.

How you will Own It: 

· Manage accurate and timely execution of cash and revenue accounting close activities

· Strengthen documentation, reconciliations, journal entry support, and review evidence

· Support remediation of control deficiencies related to cash, journal entries, and reconciliations

· Improve team accountability, close discipline, and consistency of recurring accounting deliverables

· Escalate risks, exceptions, and process gaps to the Director of Cash and Revenue Accounting timely and clearly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

· Supervise, coach, and develop accounting professionals, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability

· Assign work, monitor deadlines, and ensure recurring close responsibilities are completed accurately and on time

· Apply clear review standards for journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and audit support

· Promote a culture of ownership, accuracy, documentation quality, and continuous improvement

Cash and Revenue Accounting Oversight

· Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities for cash, revenue, and related balance sheet accounts

· Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and close deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate support

· Manage assigned close activities and ensure adherence to monthly and quarterly close calendar, proactively identifying risks to deadlines and escalating potential delays

· Manage complex account reconciliations, including the investigation and resolution of aged or recurring reconciling items, unusual activity, data discrepancies, and process exceptions in partnership with cross-functional teams

· Partner with Treasury on cash activity, bank activity, liquidity reporting support, and timely resolution of reconciling items

· Collaborate with AR and revenue teams to support completeness and accuracy of revenue, cash application, and related reporting processes

Internal Controls

· Execute and monitor SOX controls related to cash, journal entries, and reconciliations in accordance with established control requirements

· Support implementation of remediation activities for prior control deficiencies and material weakness findings

· Ensure review evidence, supporting documentation, and control operation are complete, precise, and audit-ready

· Identify control gaps, recurring issues, and process breakdowns, and escalate recommended corrective actions to the Director

· Partner with Internal Audit teams and SOX second line defense to support testing, walkthroughs, issue remediation, and ongoing control improvement

Audit & Stakeholder Management

· Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external audit requests related to cash and revenue accounting

· Prepare, review, and organize audit support with an emphasis on clarity, completeness, and consistency

· Coordinate responses to audit inquiries and escalate complex accounting, control, or judgmental matters to the Director

· Support Financial Reporting with schedules, analyses, and documentation related to cash and revenue disclosures

Process Improvement & Systems Enablement

· Identify opportunities to improve recurring close processes, reconciliations, journal entry workflows, and reporting support

· Support process standardization, automation, and use of system tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control sustainability

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

· Partner with FP&A, Treasury, AR/AP, Tax, Systems, Financial Reporting, and business teams to resolve cash and revenue accounting matters

· Communicate close status, key risks, reconciling items, and process issues clearly to the Director and relevant stakeholders

· Support cross-functional initiatives that affect cash activity, revenue completeness, data flow, and accounting controls

· Prepare ad hoc analyses and reporting support for finance and accounting leadership as needed

What you’ll Bring: 

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables

· Experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment

· Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, cash accounting, revenue accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal controls

· Experience supporting control remediation, audit requests, and process improvement initiatives

· Ability to manage recurring close deadlines, supervise team members, and escalate issues appropriately

Added Fuel if you have:  

· CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred

· Public company and/or public accounting experience preferred

· Experience with revenue complexity, multi-location operations, or franchised business models in a multi-currency environment

· Exposure to securitized debt, complex cash structures, or multi-entity environments

· Oracle ERP and EPM, Kyriba system experience

· Experience supporting process automation and close transformation initiatives
