The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Manager, Emerging Defense & Sustainment Sales, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leads and coordinates engagement with emerging defense prime contractors
• Develop relationships at all levels of a key account, including executive and C-Suite
• Identifies, influences and leads mutual beneficial projects with emerging defense related opportunities
• Determines competitive share opportunities and creates plan to win share
• Develop and execute plans to deliver the strategic and operational plans for the accounts
• Willingness to be available for key account support

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Seven (7) years of experience selling and managing relationships with large and complex end user accounts in a private, public, government, or military environment
• Experience in space, military or aerospace markets
• Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Advanced degree in business or technical from an accredited institution
• Ten (10) years’ experience with strategic key account management
• Skills include:
• Experience and demonstrated success in representing technical products and materials
• Demonstrated success in working with the US Department of Defense
• Experience in negotiating and managing agreements
• Demonstrated strong collaboration and networking skill set
• Experience engaging with and influencing executive levels of organizations
• Knowledge of 3M Company and technology

Work location:

• US Remote

Travel: May include up to 50% Domestic

Relocation: May be authorized

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
