As a Major Projects Construction Manager, you will manage and control the installation of individual units within major projects through completion, handover to the client and transition to maintenance, under the guidance and leadership of the Project Manager.

You will oversee and manage installation teams to ensure the safe, high-quality and on-time delivery of KONE solutions within budget. Acting as the key KONE representative on site, you will build strong relationships with customers, subcontractors and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities and Key Activities

This role includes a wide range of responsibilities across site management, customer engagement and team leadership.

Site Supervision Process

• Accountable for the successful delivery of installation projects.
• Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring site safety with a zero-accident mindset.
• Ensure effective management of environmental aspects of the installation, including waste handling, hazardous materials and minimising unnecessary travel.
• Accountable for the financial performance of assigned projects.
• Plan and coordinate the delivery, storage and availability of materials, tools and equipment on site.
• Arrange orders with subcontractors and non-KONE material suppliers where required.
• Manage site preparations and monitor site readiness.
• Prepare and maintain installation documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, programmes of work, site safety information and project records.
• Oversee daily planning activities and administration of permits to work.
• Ensure correct KONE installation methods, processes and tooling are followed at all times.
• Manage project administration activities, including timesheet approvals, absence management and progress reporting.
• Monitor and report project performance, including schedules, installation hours, budgets and project risks.
• Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the installation phase.
• Lead final testing activities and support the successful handover to maintenance.
• Ensure projects are completed to the highest quality standards, delivering zero defects wherever possible.
  

Customer and Sub-contractor Relationship Management

• Drive customer satisfaction through excellent project execution and communication.
• Ensure subcontractors meet KONE's safety, quality and performance standards.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Act as the primary site contact for customers and project partners.

People Management and Leadership

• Lead, coach and develop site teams, supporting both performance and wellbeing.
• Set clear objectives and expectations for installation teams.
• Organise, communicate and coordinate work activities effectively.
• Motivate teams to achieve project goals and maintain high performance standards.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience within the construction, elevator or escalator industry.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing site-based teams.
• Strong technical understanding and problem-solving abilities.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
• The ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
• Good written and spoken English.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

• CSCS Black Manager Card or Gold Manager Card.
• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
• SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme), preferred
• Temporary Works Supervisor Training (TWSTC/TWSTS), preferred
