A day in the life
The Maintenance Technician is part of the Customer Experience Team supporting approximately 22 million square feet of industrial buildings in the Lehigh Valley market. The role helps maintain safe, functional, and well-presented properties by performing inspections, coordinating repairs, monitoring vendor work, and responding to maintenance needs. This position works closely with customers, vendors, and Real Estate & Customer Experience Managers to resolve property issues and support move-ins, move-outs, annual inspections, and emergency response. The role also helps identify opportunities to connect customer needs with Prologis value-added products and services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform general property maintenance activities, including property inspections, repair coordination, troubleshooting, and recommendations for corrective action.
- Build productive relationships with customers and vendors by coordinating repairs, walkthroughs, move-ins, move-outs, and required annual inspections.
- Inspect properties proactively for grounds, curb appeal, safety, cleanliness, landscaping, and general condition, and partner with Real Estate & Customer Experience Managers on corrective actions.
- Inspect, monitor, and document vendor work and promptly report unusual conditions, property damage, or safety concerns to the Real Estate & Customer Experience Manager.
- Maintain safe and proper storage of Prologis-issued supplies, chemicals, tools, and equipment, and ensure tools and equipment remain in working condition.
- Respond to emergency situations and maintenance concerns in coordination with the Customer Experience Team.
- Support the Customer Experience Team in identifying additional customer needs that may align with Prologis value-added products and services, including Prologis Essentials.
Building blocks for success
Required:
- 3+ years of skilled maintenance experience.
- Experience using work order, fire and life safety, alarm, facility management, or building control systems.
- Basic proficiency using software applications on desktop and mobile devices.
- Experience in more than one of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, or heating and cooling systems.
- Ability to work outdoors for the majority of the workday.
- Ability to complete required training, including OSHA training.
- Ability to walk and drive properties, twist, bend, lift up to 20 pounds, and climb fixed and extension ladders while completing work assignments.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, acceptable driving record, ability to travel to multiple properties, and adherence to company vehicle-use policies.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Experience performing maintenance work in commercial real estate.
- Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
Hiring Salary Range of: $30/hr - $41.25/hr ($62,400 - $85,800). Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
