Position Overview
The Maintenance Planning Manager is responsible for developing, leading, and managing all plant/facility maintenance strategies (Preventive, Predictive, and Corrective). Working in direct collaboration with the Executive Director, this role ensures all maintenance master plans are strategically aligned, approved, flawlessly executed, and evaluated to minimize equipment downtime, optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and maintain cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Strategic Planning & Executive Alignment (Core Focus):
Partner directly with the Executive Director to present, refine, and secure approval for the annual maintenance strategy, capital expenditure (CapEx) proposals, and operational budgets.
Establish clear alignment with executive leadership on plant availability goals, production targets, and critical asset priorities.
Plan Execution & Operational Management:
Lead the full deployment of approved maintenance schedules (weekly, monthly, annual, and major turnarounds/overhauls).
Oversee and manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS / SAP PM / Maximo) to structure work orders, backlog management, and asset histories.
Direct maintenance engineers, planners, and contractor teams to ensure on-time, high-quality, and safe execution of all scheduled work orders.
Performance Evaluation & Executive Reporting:
Collaborate with the Executive Director on performance evaluation, conducting periodic reviews of key maintenance metrics (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, Schedule Compliance, and Budget Variance).
Prepare executive dashboards and present performance insights to executive management to drive data-driven decision-making.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Continuous Improvement:
Lead in-depth Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all critical failures, recurring breakdowns, or major operational bottlenecks to identify systemic causes rather than quick fixes.
Review RCA outcomes with the Executive Director and implement approved corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) to permanently eliminate failure modes.
Spare Parts & Resource Optimization:
Coordinate with Procurement and Warehousing to establish optimal reorder points and min/max stock levels for critical spare parts.
Ensure all required materials, specialized tools, and technical personnel are staged prior to scheduled downtime.
EHS & Quality Standards:
Enforce strict compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and work permits.
Ensure all maintenance procedures comply with international quality and safety management standards (e.g., ISO 55001 / ISO 45001).
