About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to support our Residential Aged Care Home in Warrnambool. In this role, you will ensure our buildings, grounds and facilities remain safe, functional, and well‑maintained for residents, staff and visitors.

As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the on‑going repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the facility. You will also assist with identifying and addressing safety concerns to support a secure and comfortable environment for everyone on site. Your work will play a key role in ensuring our RAC facility remain safe, presentable and operational.

  • Carry out ground's maintenance, on‑going repairs and preventative servicing of buildings, plant, equipment and furniture.
  • Liaise with and oversee contractors, including site access and inductions.
  • Identify, report and implement opportunities for improvement across the facility.
  • Assist in identifying and rectifying WHS/OH&S issues to maintain a safe environment.
  • Maintain accurate records using computer-based maintenance systems.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative, resident‑focused team environment.

What you’ll bring:

You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional resident-centred care.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Strong time management, organisational and communication skills.
  • A compassionate, flexible and solutions‑focused approach.
  • The ability to build respectful relationships and work both independently and within a team.
  • Previous maintenance experience (trade background or qualification preferred but not essential).
  • Experience in Aged Care or hotel/hospital settings (highly regarded).
  • Proficient computer skills: experience with maintenance management systems is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of WHS/OH&S standards and regulatory maintenance requirements for aged care and independent living.
  • Experience managing contractors and understanding of essential systems such as HVAC, essential services, and Building 9C regulations.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check.
  • Trade based qualification or more than 3 years’ experience in a commercial maintenance position.
  • Current driver’s licence.
