About This Role

The Shipping Manager is responsible for leading all outbound shipping, logistics, transportation planning, and warehouse execution activities for the Charlotte facility. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of finished goods, accessories, and replacement components while meeting customer delivery commitments and operational objectives.

The Shipping Manager provides leadership for shipping and logistics supervisors, establishes standard work, drives accountability, and partners with Operations, Planning, Procurement, Customer Service, Transportation, and Quality teams to optimize delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and cost.

Job Description

Shipping & Logistics Operations

• Lead daily shipping operations for finished units, accessories, and replacement components (RCD).
• Ensure on-time shipment execution, dock efficiency, and customer delivery performance.
• Oversee transportation planning, carrier performance, shipment tracking, and escalation management.
• Drive compliance with shipping procedures, audits, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  

Leadership & People Development

• Lead, coach, and develop Shipping Supervisors and front-line leaders.
• Establish clear performance expectations, accountability, and standard work.
• Build a culture focused on safety, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
• Support workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
  

Inventory & Operational Excellence

• Own inventory accuracy within shipping-controlled locations, staging areas, and yard operations.
• Drive transaction compliance, shipment verification, and discrepancy resolution.
• Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
• Partner cross-functionally to remove constraints and improve material flow.
  

Performance Management

Monitor and improve key performance indicators including:

• Safety Performance
• Employee Engagement
• On-Time Delivery (OTD)
• Transportation Provider Performance
• Shipping Productivity
• Freight Cost Performance
• Premium Freight Reduction
• Shipment Audit Compliance
• Inventory Accuracy
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, or supply chain operations
• 3+ years of experience with people leadership in a manufacturing/industrial environment
• 3+ years of experience with ERP systems (ie. SAP)
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s in supply chain, operations, logistics, business, engineering
• Experience leading shipping/transportation operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with SAP
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
• Proven track record improving safety, delivery, quality, and cost performance.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
