A warm and welcoming Swiss family based in Baar is looking for an experienced, reliable and autonomous Live-in Nanny to join their household from 1 November 2026.

The family currently has one 4-year-old child and is expecting a second baby. They are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and who can become a trusted and long-term member of the household.

The family values a loving, peaceful and respectful home environment, with a particular focus on gentle parenting, Montessori-inspired approaches, healthy living and sustainability.

The successful candidate will have a good level of autonomy, a strong sense of responsibility and the flexibility required for a live-in position.

Main responsibilities

Childcare

• Caring for the 4-year-old child in a warm, attentive and age-appropriate manner
• Supporting the family with childcare during the afternoon and evening
• Assisting with the evening routine and bedtime when required
• Supervising the child when parents need support, including occasional care while a parent is attending to other responsibilities
• Listening to the baby monitor and responding when needed
• Providing care for the new baby once the second child arrives
• Following the family's gentle parenting approach and incorporating Montessori-inspired principles
• Respecting the children's individual boundaries and encouraging respectful interactions

Cooking & meal preparation

• Preparing healthy, balanced family meals using fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients where possible
• Meal preparation and basic planning
• Organising groceries and putting away grocery deliveries
• Keeping the kitchen clean and organised after cooking
• Cleaning the child's eating area after meals
• Regularly checking and cleaning the refrigerator, including removing expired or perishable food

Light household support

• Loading and unloading the dishwasher
• Keeping common areas organised and tidy
• Helping organise the entrance, children's belongings and clothes when needed
• Organising children's items in coordination with the parents
• Preparing the child's backpack and/or stroller
• Keeping the stroller and children's equipment clean and organised
• Ensuring nappy-changing stations are stocked and ready
• Receiving and putting away deliveries and packages
• Running occasional errands, such as collecting items from the pharmacy or grocery store
• Taking out recycling and household waste when required
• Occasional dog walking in the future

Please note: This is not a deep-cleaning position. The role focuses primarily on childcare, cooking, organisation and light household assistance.

Working hours & flexibility

The usual schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, approximately 12:00–22:00.

As this is a live-in position, the family is looking for someone who can demonstrate a reasonable degree of flexibility when occasional changes to the family's schedule or childcare needs arise. Any additional work outside the agreed schedule should be discussed and arranged with the employee in accordance with applicable Swiss employment law.

• Previous live-in experience is essential
• At least 2 strong professional references from the last 3 years, including a reference from the most recent employer
• Police clearance / criminal record certificate
• Valid EU passport or Swiss Work Permit
• Previous professional childcare experience
• Good spoken English
• Ability to work autonomously and responsibly
