Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Legal Advisory and Support: Provide legal advice on contracts, regulatory, governance and compliance 

• Compliance and Regulatory Management: Develop compliance programs, conduct audits, ensure adherence to laws

• Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage litigation, coordinate with external counsel, develop resolution strategies

• Corporate Governance: Oversee corporate practices and  maintain records

• Risk Management: Identify legal risks, develop mitigation strategies, manage organizational risks

• Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with stakeholders, represent the company at events

• Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of corporate and commercial  law, regulatory frameworks, and industry-specific legal issues

• Risk Management: Ability to identify and strategically mitigate legal risks

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to legal challenges

• Communication: Ability to clearly convey complex legal information to various stakeholders

• Stakeholder Management: Proficient in building relationships and managing expectations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or Juris Doctor)

• Minimum of 5 years of legal practice in a law firm

• Minimum of 1 year experience as in-house lawyer of a company

• At least at the Senior Associate level (or equivalent) in a law/consulting firm.

• Extensive experience in corporate/commercial  law and  regulatory compliance

• Member in good standing of the Philippine Bar

• Corporate Law and Regulatory Compliance: In-depth understanding of corporate and commercial  legal frameworks and compliance requirements, ensuring the company meets all legal obligations.

• Insights into Legal Issues: Specific insights into legal matters pertinent to real estate, construction, information technology, telecommunications, data security,  privacy laws and other laws that are relevant to the business.

• Risk Management: Skills in identifying and mitigating potential legal risks that could impact the company.

• Contract Drafting and  Negotiation: Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts to protect the company's interests effectively.

• Litigation Management: Skills in managing and overseeing litigation matters, including strategy development and negotiation.
