Pharmathen offers a great opportunity for career development and is seeking to recruit a Compliance, Ethics & Data Protection Expert to join our team at our Marousi premises.
The Compliance, Ethics & Data Protection Expert supports the Company in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, industry standards, and ethical principles, with a particular focus on compliance, business ethics, data protection, privacy, and responsible business practices.
The role provides practical guidance to internal stakeholders, supports the development and continuous improvement of the Company's compliance framework, and contributes to fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct across the organization.
The position also contributes to embedding compliance, ethics, and data protection within the Group's sustainability agenda, supporting the effective integration of these principles across internal operations and the broader value chain.
Requirements
What you will do:
More particularly:
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the Company's Compliance, Ethics & Data Protection framework
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance, ethics, regulatory, and privacy matters
- Monitor relevant legal, regulatory, and industry developments and support the Company in addressing emerging requirements
- Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of compliance and privacy risks and contribute to the effectiveness of related controls and processes
- Contribute to ensuring compliance with applicable data protection and privacy legislation, including GDPR
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives in line with applicable requirements and best practices
- Contribute to compliance reporting, assessments, monitoring, and continuous improvement activities
- Support the integration of responsible business practices and compliance principles across the Company's operations and value chain
- Support training and awareness initiatives aimed at promoting a strong culture of integrity, ethics, and compliance
- Support other compliance, ethics, and data protection matters, including relevant investigations and initiatives, as required
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent), Compliance, Data Protection, Privacy, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Data Protection/Privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent) will be considered an asset
- 5+ years of professional experience in in a compliance role in a corporate setting, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or a highly regulated environment.
- Experience with GDPR and applicable data privacy regulations
- Experience supporting compliance programs, policies, risk assessments, and internal controls
Job-Specific Skills:
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); Ability to articulate corporate concepts
- Computer literacy
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, including Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption laws (FCPA), and GDPR / privacy regulations
- Strong understanding of procurement practices including tenders, contracts and due diligence
- Good understanding of corporate-wide strategy programs with setting of targets and milestones and cross-company cooperation for attainment
- Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong professional interest in connecting compliance and ethics with wider ESG objectives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
