The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at the University of Hull is seeking a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy to work alongside the programme director to develop and teach on BSc Occupational Therapy course and its Apprenticeship route. Both part-time and full-time applications are welcomed. This is a University of Hull band 8 post, with a pay scale of £48,822 - £56,535PA, depending on factors such as academic experience. Only applications from HCPC registered Occupational Therapists will be considered for this post.

The School of Sports, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences (SERS), under the Faculty of

Health Sciences (FHS) at the University of Hull, currently has five undergraduate

programmes, including a BSc in Physiotherapy, and is developing the Occupational

Therapy programmes for BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy and the Occupational

Therapy – Integrated Degree Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will play an

essential role in sustaining high-quality teaching, education, and scholarly activity

related to the BSc in Occupational Therapy, with support from colleagues across the

Faculty.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the post

• This is a teaching and scholarship post with responsibility for teaching, project

supervision, and assessment of undergraduate Occupational Therapy learners.

The post holder will contribute to curriculum development, including

development of Occupational Therapy modules, supervision of learners, and

support for students on placements. The post holder may be asked to lead or act

as the placement lead for the Occupational Therapy programme at the University

of Hull.

• We welcome people with a variety of knowledge and backgrounds. Knowledge of

anatomy is particularly welcome, but individuals with other skills are equally

encouraged to apply

You will also be expected to:

• Organise, assess, and grade assignments for students and apprentices

• Teach and provide individual feedback to students and apprentices

• Perform programme administrative work

• Supervise research projects (UG and PG levels)

• Liaise with the NHS, social services and other colleagues who lecture to the

Occupational Therapy learners

• Assist the programme director with tasks related to the apprenticeship routes

• Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade, as appropriate
