Über diese Lead Maintenance Engineer Stelle bei Dyson
About us
At Dyson, we are driven by technology, engineering excellence and the ambition to solve problems others ignore. Our Singapore Advanced Manufacturing site plays a critical role in delivering highly automated manufacturing capability, and we are looking for a Lead Maintenance Engineer to strengthen our equipment reliability, maintenance strategy and technical capability across multiple production lines.
This role goes beyond day-to-day line support. You will lead site-level maintenance systems, drive equipment reliability performance, and provide technical leadership to ensure our manufacturing operations continue to run safely, efficiently and sustainably.
About the role
As Lead Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the end-to-end maintenance and equipment reliability strategy across SAM. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, EHS, suppliers and technical teams to improve equipment uptime, reduce repeat failures, strengthen maintenance standards and build long-term technical capability within the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and drive equipment reliability performance across multiple lines, improving OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and yield through structured interventions.
- Establish and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance frameworks, ensuring standardisation and effectiveness across SAM.
- Own and lead complex technical escalations, driving deep root cause analysis for major breakdowns, repeat failures, and quality-impacting issues.
- Develop and standardise maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and engineering documentation to ensure consistency and audit readiness.
- Build and strengthen maintenance team capability, providing coaching, technical guidance, and structured training to engineers and technicians.
- Lead equipment readiness and reliability input for new equipment introduction, commissioning, and production ramp-up.
- Manage and optimise maintenance costs, including spare parts strategy, vendor performance, and service contracts.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, and reliability engineering methodologies to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, regulatory, and Dyson standards, maintaining safe maintenance practices and audit-ready systems.
About you
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related Engineering discipline.
- Experienced in maintenance or equipment engineering within an advanced manufacturing environment, ideally across multiple production areas.
- Strong background in equipment reliability, downtime reduction, maintenance strategy and technical problem solving.
- Confident troubleshooting automated equipment, including PLCs, robotics, servo systems, vision systems, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control systems.
- Able to apply structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, FMEA, Fishbone analysis and failure analysis.
- Effective in stakeholder management, vendor engagement, coaching and communicating technical issues clearly across different audiences.
- Highly accountable, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to distinguish between coloured wires, signals, indicators, or labels, which is required and critical for safe performance of duties.
Benefits
You will be part of a highly collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment where ideas, ownership and continuous improvement matter. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on site reliability, technical standards and the capability of our maintenance teams, while supporting the delivery of Dyson’s advanced manufacturing ambitions.
