Get to Know the Opportunity:

The Lead Health Plan Solution Engineer serves as a strategic technical advisor and subject matter expert supporting Health Plan sales opportunities throughout the entire revenue cycle. This role partners closely with Sales, Product, Operations, Implementation, and Executive Leadership to design compelling solutions that address health plan business challenges and demonstrate the value of Voya’s products and services.

The Lead Health Plan Solution Engineer combines deep healthcare industry expertise with strong technical and consultative selling skills to support complex opportunities involving enrollment, billing, eligibility, data exchange, quoting, member engagement, and related health plan solutions. This individual acts as a trusted advisor to prospective and existing clients while helping shape solution strategy, product positioning, and go-to-market execution.

• This role is fully remote, with no regular in-office requirements.  Travel up to 30% in support of partner and client engagements.

The Contributions You’ll Make:

• Lead solution strategy and technical sales activities for health plan prospects and strategic client expansion opportunities.

• Partner with internal Strategic Partners teams and external strategic partners to support growth initiatives.

• Conduct discovery sessions to understand client business objectives, operational challenges, technical requirements, and strategic priorities.

• Develop and deliver customized solution demonstrations, presentations, workshops, and executive briefings.

• Translate complex business requirements into practical solution designs and implementation approaches.

• Serve as the primary solution engineering lead for RFPs, RFIs, proof-of-concept engagements, and finalist presentations.

• Provide expert knowledge of software products, capabilities, and implementation methodologies in a fast-paced environment.

• Collaborate closely with Sales Executives to develop effective opportunity strategies.

• Support complex health plan solution discussions involving enrollment, billing, eligibility, quoting, data exchange, member engagement, and related capabilities.

• Travel up to 30% in support of partner and client engagements.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• 5+ years of experience in healthcare technology, health plan operations, benefits administration, solution engineering, consulting, or related fields.

• 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level sales opportunities.

• Demonstrated knowledge of payer and health plan business processes.

• Experience demonstrating complex application functionality and designing customer-specific software solutions for large enterprise opportunities.

• Knowledge of enterprise software technologies including server hardware, networking, web applications, electronic data exchange, and service-oriented architectures.

• Strong understanding of healthcare data flows, integrations, and enterprise applications.

• Experience responding to complex RFPs and developing solution architectures.

• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and consultative communication skills.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

• Experience with enrollment, billing, eligibility, quoting, exchange, or member administration platforms.

• Knowledge of ACA, Medicare, Individual, ASO, and Commercial Group markets.

• Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within payer organizations.

• Technical understanding of APIs, data integrations, single sign-on (SSO), and enterprise architectures.

• Prior management, mentoring, or team leadership experience.

• Healthcare or benefits industry certifications.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya may offer incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
