Work Arrangement 
This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Advanced Technical Center in Shanghai, China full time.

The Role -

Senior designer working fully independently responsible for creating new designs for full-size exterior of automotive vehicles. Work collaboratively in a team of design personnel to achieve design goals as defined by leadership. Follow design process from initial sketches through final release of models. Present creative design ideas and concepts in scale and full size sufficient to communicate thought process to management and leadership. Capable of developing 3D mock-ups of proposed design solutions. Works closely with team members and cross-functional partners in sculpting and engineering to negotiate criteria and communicate design intent. Understands program timelines and task completion in a deadline driven environment.

What You’ll Do -

• Create new and unique exterior design and component ideas and concepts independently for automotive vehicles and other mobility products through traditional sketches as well as digitally through the use of 2D and 3D technology.

• Collaborate frequently with design team, sculpting organization, engineering and fabrication teams in the development of new designs.

• Take a big-picture perspective on customer needs and future transportation and create provocative concepts and designs.

• Work duties involve a considerable amount of perception, design taste, judgement and creativity as well as a definite degree of skill and accuracy.

• Provide insight and recommendations to supervisors and leadership while possessing willingness and acumen to act upon general guidance in a deadline driven environment.

• Maintain knowledge of current design trends and technology.

• Present ideas frequently to management and leadership to communicate design ideas. Exhibit design courage and challenge expectations.

• Employees may be assigned additional responsibilities as needed.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) 

• Deep experience and confidence in developing proposals in digital 3D and physical full-size clay.

• Able to approach projects from a strategic point of view and autonomously drive development.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience in production programs would be beneficial.
