Lead Commercial Training Specialist
Are you an experienced technical trainer who enjoys leading complex projects, developing others, and shaping global learning programs? As the Lead Commercial Training Specialist at Hypertherm Associates, you will provide technical and instructional leadership in the commercial training team. You will design and deliver high-impact learning solutions, lead cross-functional projects, coach trainers, ensure training-facility readiness, and help advance a consistent, safe, and exceptional learning experience for Customers, Partners, and Associates.
As a Lead Commercial Training Specialist, you will:
- Lead projects, set instructional direction, and engage subject matter experts.
- Elevate content quality: Use approved AI tools, share best practices, and provide final technical review.
- Deliver advanced technical training: Facilitate all relevant courses, including custom training and hands-on instruction in CAD/CAM software programming, safety, operation, optimization, and maintenance, .
- Ensure delivery excellence: Resolve complex technical questions, maintain consistent standards, and coach trainers.
- Improve training: Identify gaps and lead improvements to processes, content, facilitation, and technical accuracy.
- Lead projects and stakeholders: Manage plans, stakeholders, communications, deadlines, accountability, and risks while removing technical barriers.
- Own facility readiness: Maintain equipment availability, calibration, safety, organization, and issue escalation; support new equipment planning.
- Provide onsite leadership: Advise the team, lead trainer onboarding and development, and reinforce standards without direct supervision.
- Shape programs and strategy: Assess needs, influence program design, support annual planning, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and lead global initiatives.
Who you are and the experience you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of training-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience independently managing complex, cross-functional projects and stakeholders
- Direct or indirect leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, or developing others
- Training content development, facilitation, and presentation skills, with a strong understanding of adult-learning principles
- Advanced organizational and project-management skills, with a high level of initiative and independence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use Copilot and other approved AI tools to improve efficiency and quality
- Expert-level knowledge of applicable plasma or waterjet technologies and products, including software, safety, operation, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Hypertherm operating systems, processes, go-to-market strategies, and business models
Location: OMAX in Kent, WA
Travel: Minimal – as necessary
