The role

ALS Geochemistry in Orange is seeking Laboratory Assistants to join a team committed to exceeding client expectations by delivering high-quality results on time.

The successful applicants will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role.

These are full time roles with 8-hour shifts. We are looking for two Laboratory Assistants to work the following rosters:

• Monday to Friday: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
• Monday to Friday: 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm

This is a residential role, and to be considered, you must currently reside in or near Orange - NSW and have current Australian work rights.

The day to day

• Weigh, digest or fuse geological samples for analysis
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment as required
• Assess data quality to ensure it meets client reporting standards
• General housekeeping, including:
• Cleaning laboratory equipment, glassware and area
• Perform sample preparation and manual handling may be required

 The essentials

• A tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related field is desirable but not essential
• Experience in a high-production laboratory (highly regarded)
• A basic understanding of analytical chemistry concepts
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to HSE guidelines
• An enquiring mind and willingness to learn
• Flexibility and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Ability to multi-task and produce accurate results
• Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work the stated rosters continuously, including public holidays and weekends
