Job Summary

The HR Coordinator works closely with the Manager of Human Resources to provide administrative and operational support for a wide range of HR functions across both the LA Kings and Ontario Reign. This role is responsible for supporting daily HR activities, including onboarding and offboarding, recruitment, payroll processing, employee record maintenance, training coordination, processing employee status changes, responding to employee inquiries, and assisting managers with HR policies, procedures, and best practices. In addition, the HR Coordinator contributes to various HR initiatives and special projects

Essential Functions

• Maintain all employee/player files and related record keeping of personnel data, workers compensation, contracts, I-9 records, etc. Process and document all adjustments involving staff, including: promotions pay increases, data updates.
• Responsible for processing new hires from applicant tracking system through UKG, by ensuring paperwork is collected and validated electronically, employee IDs are requested, appropriate documents (e.g., I-9, etc.) are verified, and completing all other related data entry.
• Assist employees with questions/issues regarding payroll, benefits and HR process and procedures.
• Provide support and assistance for recruitment activities (job postings, sourcing, coordination of interviews, pre-screening candidates) for positions within the company, issue background checks for new hires.
• Participate in/conduct employee meetings where appropriate (such as new hire orientation, annual benefit enrollment meetings, etc.)
• Responsible for the integrity, security, and confidentiality of employee data including ensuring compliance of all documents and administering record retention and purging of personnel files.
• Assist employees with daily payroll, PTO, timesheet and system Issues.  Assist with system reports, timesheet issues, etc. Is the  ABI Super User and serves as the liaison between employee and payroll for all things ABI. Work directly with Payroll on the maintenance of ABI. Perform regular audits of employee data in UKG and ABIMM to ensure accuracy of employee data.
• Follow AEG best practices and procedures to coordinate exit interviews, termination paperwork and final wages for all employee separations.
• Assist in planning employee appreciation/wellness initiatives including Staff Retreat, holiday party, watch parties and other celebrations.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining job descriptions for exempt and non-exempt positions.

Education Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Business, Human Resources, or related field

Experience Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related work experience
• Experience working in an HRIS system

• Strong time management skills with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to utilize discretion and best judgment when handling confidential information
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly organized with close attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to read, interpret, and disseminate information on Company policies to employees and management
• Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of common HRIS systems
• Must be available to work game days, nights, weekends and holidays

Payscale: $21.27-$26.00/hr

This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
