Job Description

Who We Are

Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is the leading entertainment and sports agency, with global expertise in filmed and live entertainment, digital media, publishing, sponsorship sales and endorsements, licensing, media finance, consumer investing, fashion, trademark licensing, and philanthropy.  Distinguished by its culture of collaboration and exceptional client service, CAA’s diverse workforce identifies, innovates, and amplifies opportunities for the people and organizations that shape culture and inspire the world.  The trailblazer of the agency business, CAA was the first to build a sports business, create an investment bank, launch a venture fund, found technology start-up companies, establish a philanthropic arm, build a business in China, and form a brand marketing services division, among other innovations.

Position Summary:

CAA is seeking a Junior Analyst to support a Contract Administration Executive in the Books and Publishing department. The position is part of a small team that works to ensure accuracy in Publisher reporting of sales and royalty earnings on behalf of clients and Agent colleagues and to use this same reporting for insights into project performance and trend analysis.

This role offers exposure to both Publishing leadership and CAA's Agency Operations team. For individuals who demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, business judgment, and leadership potential, the position can serve as a foundation for expanded responsibilities and long-term career development within CAA, but it is not intended for candidates pursuing a traditional literary Agent career path.

The ideal candidate has a passion for book publishing, financial analysis, and business operations. They are intellectually curious, analytical, and eager to develop a deep understanding of publishing contracts, revenue streams, deal structures, and the broader economics of the publishing industry.

Essential Functions

•    Research author publication and contract licensing history including domestic subsidiary rights and international translation rights
•    Perform buyer analysis and research on request
•    Ensure data integrity through cleanup and organization to support future analysis
•    Translate data into new insights and trends watching for the creation of original data-driven reports with clear narratives
•    Aid departmental training initiatives and internal software development for Intellectual Property
•    Support business growth areas and ad hoc projects for the department
