 Job Title: Specialist Engineer - Asset/SPIR coordination (Offshore -WHTs, Subsea Cable & Piping , B/Fs)

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Contractors Office/ Fabrication Yard Office in Abu Dhabi for some time  and then if required by client team will later move to Offshore Site on 6 weeks on/ 3 weeks off rotation.

Job Purpose

The Specialist Engineer - Asset/SPIR Coordination is responsible for managing and coordinating Asset Register development, SPIR (Spare Parts Interchangeability Record) documentation, equipment master data, and project handover deliverables for offshore facilities. The role ensures that all asset information, spare parts data, maintenance requirements, and equipment records associated with Wellhead Towers (WHTs), subsea cable systems, offshore piping systems, boat landings, foundation brackets, and associated infrastructure are complete, accurate, and compliant with company and client requirements.

The position acts as the focal point between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless transfer of asset information from project execution into operational systems.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Data Management

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate asset registers for offshore projects.
  • Ensure accurate asset hierarchy and equipment tagging structures are established.
  • Verify completeness of equipment records and associated technical documentation.
  • Coordinate asset master data creation and validation within client systems.
  • Support digital asset management and lifecycle information requirements.

SPIR Coordination

  • Review and validate Vendor SPIR submissions.
  • Ensure spare parts recommendations are aligned with operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors, procurement teams, and maintenance departments regarding spare parts requirements.
  • Evaluate criticality and stocking levels of recommended spares.
  • Verify interchangeability and standardization of spare parts across offshore facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with client SPIR procedures and contractual requirements.

Engineering & Project Support

  • Coordinate engineering deliverables associated with asset management and lifecycle data.
  • Review vendor documentation to ensure asset information completeness.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure maintainability and operability requirements are incorporated.
  • Support technical clarification and resolution of asset data issues during project execution.
  • Coordinate with package engineers and discipline engineers to capture equipment data accurately.

Offshore Facilities Coordination

Provide asset and SPIR coordination support for:

  • Wellhead Towers (WHTs)
  • Offshore piping systems
  • Subsea cable systems
  • Boat Landings
  • Foundation Brackets (B/Fs)
  • Structural steel assemblies
  • Utility systems
  • Mechanical packages
  • Electrical equipment
  • Instrumentation and control systems

Project Handover & Commissioning Support

  • Coordinate project handover documentation to operations teams.
  • Support commissioning and start-up teams with asset information requirements.
  • Verify completeness of turnover dossiers and operation manuals.
  • Ensure asset records are properly migrated into CMMS or ERP systems.
  • Participate in project close-out activities and final asset verification.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Interface with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Liaise with vendors to obtain required asset and spare parts information.
  • Support client audits and asset data reviews.
  • Participate in technical meetings and project progress reviews.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and client asset management standards.
  • Verify documentation quality and completeness.
  • Support document control activities related to asset data and SPIR records.
  • Assist in resolving NCRs and asset information discrepancies.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in Asset Management or Maintenance Management are advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 15-18 years of experience in offshore oil and gas, EPC/EPCI, fabrication, or asset management projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Asset Coordination, SPIR Management, Master Data Management, or Project Handover.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting offshore facilities including:
    • Wellhead Towers (WHTs)
    • Subsea cable systems
    • Offshore piping systems
    • Boat landings
    • Foundation brackets and structural systems
  • Experience with brownfield and greenfield offshore projects preferred.
  • Middle East offshore project experience is advantageous.
