Key Responsibilities
Negotiate with customers to design solutions to address complex cross functional needs. Identifies BKM's for integrated solution design and standards; Keeps abreast of technologies in the market and preform technology evaluations, as required. Works with multiple vendors for high quality resources and competitiveness
Perform and document software application configuration and/or coding, prepare and execute testing (unit, integration, performance, acceptance) and data conversions using standard tools and following established processes and guidelines. Supervises work of contract developers. Perform Quality assurance.
Monitors specific IT systems or set of systems for availability and performance and reports anomalies through predefined process. Participate in evaluation/recommendation of patches, point releases, major upgrades, and new systems.
Provides and/or oversees support services to GIS customers for specific IT service or set of services. Adheres to service management processes and procedures to meet customer service level agreements and maintain customer satisfaction. Completes root cause analysis of outages or incident trends (often working with managed services partner). Recommends preventative actions
Plan and manage projects to ensure effective and efficient execution in line with established processes and guidelines and guardrails of scope, timeline, budget and quality
Mentors and trains team members in product functionality, development and testing guidelines, tools, and methodologies

The Lab IT Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining IT infrastructure within laboratory environments. This role ensures the availability, reliability, security, and performance of laboratory systems, workstations, servers, network devices, and specialized lab applications to support research, testing, and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Support
- Install, configure, and maintain laboratory computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripheral devices.
- Support Windows/Linux operating systems and standard enterprise applications.
- Monitor and maintain lab servers, storage systems, and network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application-related issues.
Laboratory Systems Support
- Support laboratory applications, test equipment interfaces, and data acquisition systems.
- Coordinate with vendors for installation, upgrades, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Ensure proper integration between lab systems and enterprise platforms.
User Support
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to laboratory users.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
- Assist users with software installations, account management, and system access requests.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security policies, patches, antivirus solutions, and endpoint protection.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Ensure systems comply with organizational security and regulatory requirements.
Asset & Change Management
- Maintain hardware and software inventory records.
- Track IT assets and lifecycle management activities.
- Participate in change management, system upgrades, and technology refresh projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or laboratory IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and endpoint management.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL processes.
