Inventory Clerk
Location: Spencer, WI
Schedule: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM; overtime as needed
Pay: $26–$30/hour
About the Role
The Maintenance Storeroom Buyer & Inventory Clerk plays an important role in keeping our plant running safely and efficiently. You’ll ensure maintenance parts, tools, supplies, and materials are available when needed while managing purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and storeroom organization.
What You’ll Do
- Purchase maintenance, repair, operating supplies, spare parts, tools, and safety materials.
- Monitor inventory levels, usage, reorder points, lead times, and open work orders to anticipate needs.
- Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders using Ariba and Catalyst; obtain quotes and coordinate with vendors.
- Receive shipments, verify quantities, and part numbers, and resolve discrepancies or backorders.
- Kit parts for planned maintenance work and issue materials to maintenance and operations teams.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and research inventory variances.
- Coordinate returns, warranty claims, repairs, credits, and replacement parts with vendors.
- Partner with Accounts Payable on invoice reconciliation and vendor setup.
- Maintain a clean, organized, secure storeroom and identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
- Support maintenance planning for preventive maintenance, shutdowns, corrective work, and emergency repairs.
- Follow all purchasing, safety, housekeeping, and documentation requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required; related technical or associate degree preferred.
- Experience in inventory, purchasing, storeroom, warehouse, maintenance support, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer and math skills; ERP, inventory, purchasing, or CMMS experience is a plus.
- Ability to safely handle materials and work in a plant, storeroom, warehouse, and maintenance environment.
Your work will directly support maintenance uptime by ensuring the right parts are available at the right time.
